Had a great night of live music here. This is a typical Welsh pub. They always have something going on. The service is always fast, and they have a great little garden in the summer. We did not use the accommodations.

Great food and service. Would recommend booking if you want a table for food as it was busy on a Saturday, although for better weather there is alot of outdoor seating. Luckily we had booked .

As always, Google reviews are utterly incapable of dealing with restaurants that are pubs that have rooms. After all these years you’d think Google would have sorted this out, but hey go. Excellent little pub that feels like an old-fashioned boozer, with a tight corner bar and acres of worn wooden floorboards. Good selection of food, served quickly and with a smile. There’s a good selection of ales along with usual selection of gas-inducing rancid lagers. Atmospheric pubs like this are becoming a rarity, as Britain accepts the McDonaldsisation of pubs. If you need the witless, vacuous beigeness of a chain pub, head on up the hill for some BOGOF offers and tedious food.

Superb experience from start to finish. A real gem made even better by the wonderful staff. Everyone I met couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly and I was made to feel very welcome. Great room that was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent (apologies that I couldn’t finish it) Thank you, I’ll certainly be back.

I really loved this pub. We stayed at the start of our Offas Dyke yomp. It is so nice to be in a thriving community pub with good beer and a very fine beer garden. There is a good natured friendly feel about the place, helped by friendly staff. The only thing I would say is it is a 1620 pub with wooden floors and our room was above the bar. There was a good hubbub of chatter and I slept immediately but that may be worth considering if you turn in early and struggle sleeping.
