I have been to the Three Kings many time but this is the first time going since the new owners took over a few years ago. I do not mind paying for decent food, however the food quality just simply was not matching up to the prices. The steak sauce was tasteless. I feel as though the Three Kings are trying to be A Là Carte but they do not have the food quality to execute this. I asked for my steak to be medium rare but it came medium - this is all basic stuff that shouldn't be happening when paying £30. The tomato paste on the potatoe gratin was bizarre and it was so oily I couldn't tell if it were a potatoe gratin or fried bread. My daughters toasted sandwich was same story, it was incredibly greasy, so much so that you couldn't taste the flavours inside the toasted brioche. The service was incredibly slow however the guy was on his own, but the pub was by no means busy. Our drinks arrived mid-way through our meal despite ordering them before ordering our food. Our experience was an all round disappointment.
As much as I wanted to pay a visit to this pub ,after today’s experience I decided not to come back. I liked the food and the style of the pub ,but I was really disappointed with the quality of the service. The waiter/bartender made us feel very unwelcome by her grumpy attitude and lack of professionalism. It’s shame really. A little suggestion if I may have is to create in the corner a little baby change (add perhaps a mattress) next to the sink in lady’s room.
My family brought me here for Sunday lunch. Perfect. Lovely cosy dining area, Delicious food and great service. I loved the way my four year old granddaughter was treated..able to have her main when we had starter and then dessert a little sooner to follow and a further treat. We had a very happy time.Thank you.
We had my wife's wake at The Three kings Fornham I booked the Function menu for 22 people @ £20 per head . The food quality was good but the amount of food supplied was very very disappointing with very small quantity of small sandwiches and wraps there was barely enough bite size sausage rolls for 2 per head and the Brownies again were bite size with maybe 3 per person. On the day I did not make a fuss and payed in full £440. Since then I have spoken with the manager she was basically very rude and did not want to talk about it only saying that it was our fault in that our quests had eaten to much obviously trained in the school of the customer is never right. Although the pub is close to the crematorium do not use for your wake your quests will be in for a big disappointment and think that you are a skinflint.
Very good accommodation, tidy and comfortable. Stayed just one night but found it quiet and relaxing. Chef's breakfast was tasty. Greene King beers on offer which I don't consider local but national. Not only are pubs closing but also breweries, support the locals.
