Came for lunch with friends on a Wednesday and still busy. Very tastefully renovated with nice ambiance and beautiful view over the countryside. Massive menu and hard to decide. My wife loved the Mussels and my Corned beef had a lovely crust although not so much corned beef and mostly potato. Other than that minor comment we had a nice time and really enjoyed it. Would be happy to return.
An excellent breakfast yet again. Staff were very pleasant. It was my wife's birthday and they presented her with a small bottle of Prosecco for her birthday. A lovely touch.
My husband and I had the most amazing breakfast/brunch. Smashed avocado and poached eggs for me, and Bury style eggs (with bacon and black pudding) for my husband. Fast service, friendly staff, and the food was well presented, hot, and delicious. We'll definitely be back.
We called in yesterday, hoping to get lunch. As it was 4 days before Christmas & we hadn't booked, we were expecting to be told there was nothing available or that we may have a long wait! Happily, staff were very accommodating & rearranged tables in order to seat us - virtually straight away. Despite it being very busy & them saying that we might feel a bit squashed in where we were, the restaurant didn't feel overcrowded. Although they were offering an extensive Christmas menu, we were pleasantly surprised to see all the usual menu options were still available. Our orders were taken within minutes of us being seated & our food & drink arrived promptly. I opted for the slow braised silverside of beef, which was served with mash, peppercorn sauce & vegetables. It was delicious. My husband chose the 'Shoes Stack' burger, which consisted of beef burger, chicken breast, bacon & melted cheddar. It came with fries, salad & coleslaw. He thoroughly enjoyed it. We were also impressed by the staff - from the lady who greeted us at the bar & was so accommodating, to the cheerful, friendly waitress who took our food order - the level of customer service was first rate particularly considering what a busy time of year it is for the hospitality industry. Thank you for a lovely dining experience.
Occassion- Christmas School reunion. First time to stay in the hotel. Absolutely stunning rooms, all recently refurbished to the highest standard, 5 rooms all differently decorated, beautiful and for the price to stay over night highly recommended. Restaurant- very modern area, decor makes the whole place inviting. Staff- friendly and very helpful. Food - very tasty with good portions. Would I return- most definitely. Well done to all involved in the running of the place
