About us

Thomas Frost, the draper, moved into one of the six shops on this site in the 1880s. By 1910, his drapery business had expanded into all of the shops. It was probably around the time of World War I that the old shops were replaced by the present building which had been Frost’s Department Store, now this Wetherspoon pub.

Always go there when Brighton play Everton for football , it is always heaving with customers but the way they organise the staff it is second to none , you never have to wait long and the prices are too good to be true ....Great experience every time

I absolutely love our local pub, and Josh, in particular, is a standout gem. His welcoming demeanor and sense of humor make every visit feel like coming home. He truly fosters a sense of community that keeps us coming back for more. Cheers to Josh and our favorite local spot! Our local pub holds a special place in my heart, and one of the key reasons for that is the incredible staff, especially Josh. Every time I walk through those doors, I'm greeted with a warm smile and a friendly welcome from Josh. He has an exceptional talent for making everyone feel like they're part of a close-knit community. Josh's humor is one of a kind. He has a knack for brightening up the atmosphere, and his witty remarks and jokes never fail to bring laughter to our table. It's not just about serving drinks; it's about creating a genuinely enjoyable and memorable experience for the patrons. In a world where the bar scene can sometimes feel impersonal, Josh's genuine friendliness sets this pub apart. He remembers our names and our favorite drinks, making us feel like valued regulars. It's the kind of personalized service that keeps us coming back time and time again. Beyond his excellent customer service skills, Josh's passion for the pub's community is evident. He's always eager to share local news and events, and he's a great source of information about what's happening in the neighborhood. This makes the pub feel like a hub of local life, and I appreciate that sense of connection. In summary, our local pub, with Josh at the helm, isn't just a place to grab a drink; it's a home away from home. It's a place where we're not just customers; we're part of a larger family. Cheers to Josh and the entire team for creating such a welcoming and enjoyable environment. It's truly a community treasure.

20 minutes bus ride from Queens Square. Very good ale and jacket potato lunch. Slightly skimpy with the garden peas. Good for horse racing enthusiasts with racing on the TV and bookies yards away

Would give 0 but no possible. This place is absolute joke. Filthy, dirty place, no one bother to clean the table, no manners, nothing. Today I have visit with my kids, to get some hot chocolate. The lady charged me for the chocolate even if the machine actually did not serve one ??? There was no chocolate in it, but she didn't even bother to tell me and let me pay for something they did not have? Then as it is with the kids, they saw they do serve spaghetti, so wanted them too, so I ordered the spaghetti for them. As I waited for the food I was waiting for waitress to clean the table as it was really dirty, something was spilled on the table. She came but already with the food and did not even bother with the table and put the cutlery on that dirty table !!?? Not even napkin nothing, but dirty newspaper that was already there all dirty,! The spaghetti absolute joke, disgusting portion for baby. Dirty plate .. from this I was more concerned about my kids health. The worst place I have ever seen. Never again. This place is for drunks only, but not for family.
