Four, could of been more. Upon entry I was greeted by two barrels set in the wall Hob goblin and bank's amber upon arrival at the bar I was informed they had no ales at all but about 5 different types of lager. I purposely drove out of my way just to have an ale in this nice country pub so I was somewhat disappointed. We sat in the bar area which only had a handful of people in it but the music was too loud to be able to talk across the table. On the subject of loud music, no thought is given to people with a hearing disability which is aggravated by loud noises, I do have a problem which is another reason I didn't stay long. If you can't talk across a table without leaning forward the music is to loud. I was happy to see it's very dog friendly even little treats for them by the door plus a nice ode to dogs on the wall. For that we be back.

Live locally and we heard The Talbot was now serving food. We were so delightfully surprised. Great service by both bar staff and the fab young gent serving food. Food was flipping fab (well done kitchen staff) It is not trying too hard, it's doing good food for great money and the dog was welcomed with a bowl of water too. Simple tasty, pub classics at reasonable prices all served with a smile. Nice atmosphere, great to see the dining area steadily fill up as we were there. This is just what we want from our local village pub and will absolutely be returning. I've heard the Sunday roasts are a hit but book as word spreads fast. Don't change anything The Talbot and you'll always be well supported.

Booked for a Sunday lunch with my sister. Martin rang ahead to make sure he would have meat we might want. Very friendly & professional staff. Nice & homely inside. Lots of space. Staff very attentive. I had roast beef & it was so nicely cooked. Would definitely come back as just down the road from me
