We had absolutely no problem checking in. Kath was unbelievablely helpful and welcoming, the bar was stocked and the drinks were flowing! The room we were booked in was clean, warm and cosy. We spent most of the evening in the bar playing pool and darts, it was lovely for a Friday evening, definitely worth a visit and a stay 😊
Went here for evening meal. The hotel looks amazing. Loads of character. Very clean. The food is so delicious. The staff and new management are so polite and welcoming. It's such an amazing opportunity to make this historic building into something amazing. This place has been neglected over the years. But this revamp is a credit to the new management. And seriously, the food is amazing! All fresh ingredients and just delicious!
My friends and I booked a large room at this hotel for a big Christmas dinner with all of our kids (~30 of us). The wooden panelled room was beautiful. The staff in the hotel were very friendly. The food was good for the price. The only real negative was the deserts, none of which catered to my children's dietary requirements even though they were informed in advance. The hotel has recently been refurbished. Whilst some of the decorating choices around the hotel are questionable, it is clean and full of character. My friends and I are planning on making this an anual event, and also joining them for an Easter meal too. Would recommend.
I hosted My little girls 6th Birthday party here yesterday and it was brilliant. Staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Communication was amazing over the last few months. Nothing was too much trouble. New owners are doing an amazing job. Thank you all so much, food was 10/10 too. Highly recommended this place and will be using you for any future parties.
This is a lovely hotel with lots of character. The rooms are nice and clean although the radiator is a bit tricky to work out but once that's sorted really comfortable. Had a downstairs room with a window onto the high street and I was surprised how quite it was. Food is good quality and just the right amounts. Highly recommend
