About us

This iconic building is a former 16th century coaching inn and is as comfortable and elegant today as it was in its coaching heyday. It was so well loved historically that itโ€™s where King Charles I chose to visit back in 1645, the day before the famous battle of Naseby.

Whether you are looking for a welcoming place to spend the night or would simply like to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat surrounded by friendly faces, The Three Swans is perfectly placed, right in the centre of the historic market town of Oundle. It has its own large car park, offers all-day dining and an in-house coffee shop, free WiFi and is pet-friendly.

Great spot to stay. I've stayed here on a number of occasions. The rooms are nice enough. The bar and food, both evening are really good. Prices for food, drink and rooms represent good value for money in my view. There are local alternatives for eating and drinking which also add to the appeal.

Stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas as visiting family. Lovely atmosphere and clean comfortable bedroom.Housekeeping staff excellent. Food variable , good for some meals but awful for others .Roast potatoes on Christmas Day like rocks but rest of meal good. Hot breakfast day 1 very good but day 2 breakfast awful , after a long wait ( told service very busy) scrambled eggs eventually arrived cold and very salty . Day 3 flood in kitchen so breakfast menu limited.Told no hot food except bacon , sausage sandwich but I noted some tables had bacon and fried eggs.Buffet meals in evening very good . WiFi intermittent and radiator in bedroom faulty.Staff good but speed of service variable .

Met up with friends for a meal in the restaurant. The service was good, staff friendly and smiling, and the ambience was very seasonal, very clean. Food piping hot and tasty. We didn't feel rushed either. Great company, great meal, lovely location. FYI we parked in the co-op car park as the streets were very busy. Would recommend The Talbot ๐Ÿ‘

An incredible hotel in the most perfect location, superb rooms, helpful, lovely staff, dinner was great and the breakfast exceptional. The room was spectacular and the finnishing touch was watching red-kites flying over the rooftops of the town. Thank you Talbot Hotel and your lovely receptionist!

Enjoyable stay in a comfortable room. The hotel is beautifully decorated and retains its history throughout. Coffee, tea, and cake are also served in the relaxing lounge area all day. Staff are friendly and helpful. Two members of staff went the extra mile to deliver something special too, for our special anniversary.
