I visited the Swan at Forton with 2 friends for lunch. We were not staying at the hotel. We were greeted warmly and efficiently, and were shown to our table in the pleasant dining area. The menu was good and the food and service excellent. The portions were adequate and not overwhelming and we finished all the food. The waiting on was friendly and professional. We will be going back in the future. Thank you to all the staff at this excellent pub.
Went for lunch. I opted for the chicken with mushrooms asparagus chips in a cream sauce. The very under flavoured watery sauce had been poured over everything, not an enjoyable experience. The dining chairs solid wood no cushions. Room itself very cool. Shame better sauce and served separately would of made a difference. Used tobe lovely when it was a carvery. Not a lot of choice for vegetarians. Would not be rushing back
The Swan is part of the Joules chain of pubs and is a lovely place. I do not know if they have hotel rooms. The food is good, the beers are better. Parking can be a little frustrating, but it's worth the effort. Kind, thoughtful, and friendly staff make this a pub worth visiting.
A group of us (10 ladies) had our usual annual weekend away. This year it was Chester. On the way back we stopped to eat. Beautiful surroundings both externally and internally. Top drawer service and food. The young man who served us took our banter very well and went along with it in good spirit. Would highly recommend and definitely go out of my way to visit again. Thank you
A warmer welcome you could not wish for. Alex was amazing, catering to all aspects of our stay. We booked dinner for four people originally, and it ended up being twelve. No fuss or bother, just more tablets added! The food is lovely, and breakfast was gorgeous. Well done, everyone. What a great place to stay.
