Inevitably known locally as the Mucky Duck, this popular Grade II listed mid-terrace pub dates back to the late 18th century and overlooks the Trent & Mersey Canal / Coventry Canal junction. There is a basic but cosy public bar (with turf-fuelled open fire) and a smaller lounge on opposite sides of a central serving area, plus a 'cellar room', with a vaulted brick ceiling, beyond the lounge (5 steps down). Some seating at front, plus patio at rear, with picnic tables. Guest beers mainly from Midlands microbreweries. Real cider (Holden's Summat Else) in summer only. Folk night Thursday; 'open mic' night Sunday; occasional musical events (eg. New Year, Burns Night) during the year. Walkers, boaters and gongoozlers welcome.
What can i say..not been since lockdown and wow what a differents in the sunday lunch.outstanding and even a doggy sunday lunch which i dog loved.cant wait to try the menu on a evening
Popped it New years day for a couple pints and some nibbles. First time we have been back for quite a while as we moved out of Fradley for a few years.. and it didn't disappoint! Some lovely beers on tap that's for sure! It's a dog friendly pub too which is a bonus! We live back in the village now and will be making a few more regular visits that's for sure!
Great looking pub but Guinness was terrible. It's my favourite tipple and all I drink. Tasted like chemicals. Maybe line cleaner? Shame because we wanted to make this part of our regular walk.
Went here for a couple of drinks after go karting . The pub was really friendly had a laugh with us service was good definitely call In again if we are that way really enjoyed the afternoon 😁
Great place to sit outside by the canal, lots of outdoor seating at the front and back of the pub. We enjoyed a lovely meal inside, pub was very busy but the food came out relatively quickly. Staff lovely too.
