A wonderful atmosphere and the service is excellent. Sadly, my meal was not that good and the staff noticed I didn't eat it. We were very impressed when we were not charged for my meal. They were interested in my feedback and were going to tweak the menu to improve the dish. I did have the pear and apple crumble, which was delicious. Everyone else's food was excellent and we had a wonderful time.

Fabulous Friday evening meal, great atmosphere in the bar, attentive friendly service and great food. Sadly only our second visit since Win took over due to a serious illness but The Half Moon is back to being a great village pub. A big improvement over the last few years of the previous ownership when things were really not very good at all with poor service and lacklustre food at inflated prices. All five of us had no complaints with any of our food. Baked Camembert was very much enjoyed by all with the sourdough washed down with La Tournée red wine. My Devilled Kidneys were awesome, massive plate for a starter. Fish and Chips enjoyed by three was faultless and great value at £17, two of the girls shared and one solo’d, great chips 🍟. Liver and bacon was a great big plateful which us chaps thoroughly enjoyed (excuse the pic, I do like to add pepper!). Normally that would have seen me done but I went for the sticky toffee pudding. Seriously that was quite possibly the best STP I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few in my three score years (almost). Marvellous evening thoroughly deserving five blobs 😁. But where do you get that La Tournée, it’s like hens teeth. Well Done!

Chose the Half Moon, Windelsham, for our Christmas lunch. Received a warm welcome and have attentive staff throughout our time there. Quick service (not rushed) with our meals and the quality of our Christmas food was very good and certainly plentiful, all set in a lovely festive surroundings. Thank you to both Ben and Ally, who were amazing.

We enjoyed a pleasant Friday lunch at the Half moon in Windlesham. A good choice of food, beer and wine and a lovely crackling fire. The staff were very nice and very helpful. Seaweed mayo is unusual and worth trying. Recommended. We returned on a Saturday with the family (a group of 12) and had a lovely late lunch. The food and service was really good again and the kids loved the playground in the garden. Still recommended,

We decided to try The Half Moon pub after reading good reviews on the roasts. It was very mixed but I thought with the added bonus of friendly staff, it being a nearby location and a log fire.. let's give it a try. The staff were friendly, the pub itself was a quintessentially english country pub and we were looking forward to a roast after working a 12 hr shift. We asked for the food to arrive hot in temperature as we had read some reviews that mentioned the food usually comes out cold. Unfortunately the roast did not live up to standards. We both ordered the pork belly with crackling. The pork arrived with a gravy soaked layer of fat, no crackling which was a shame, it was barely warm. I asked the waiter if there was any crackling on any of the meat, he said sorry I'll be back. He returned with a small plate of crackling that did not look appetizing at all. I can say the glass of wine I had was very good, the roast potatoes, swede, cabbage, yorkshire pudding and 1 parsnip (the others looked boiled) was very good and enjoyable. The pork and cold gravy let the meal down. After our meal another waiter came over and asked if everything was ok, I explained to him that the pork had no crackling and the temperature of the food was barely warm. He said sorry, the meat usually comes out really well and we usually give a great service but unfortunately today you have received a mediocre service. I was quite taken aback by this, I thought some constructive feedback back may be appreciated but sadly it feel on deaf ears. We had a roast each, 1 pint of Aspall and one glass of red wine totalling to £62 which I think was extortionate for the service and food we received. We thought we would give it a try but won't be going back.
