Revamping its previous incarnation, The Bun Shop, our much missed main man Dominic brought to the Surbiton scene The BNW in the mid 1990’s. His vision was to provide a place in which to enjoy live performances, hold a party and have a jar or two along the way. We are proud to continue that idea.
We offer live music, comedy, a private function room, games room, sun-trap courtyard area and a relaxed atmosphere in cool surroundings. Allied to big-screen sport, we’ve got it covered.

We hired the private function room for my husbands birthday and had the most amazing time. David is a great DJ and he managed our party beautifully. Amy and Saffron were also so helpful and amazing. Would highly recommend for events!
I’ve just had my 40th birthday party at the brave and it couldn’t have gone any better!! Friendly attentive staff, reasonably priced bar, great dj, great party atmosphere and overall a fabulous night was had by all my guests!! Such a shame the night had to end!!
I visited this place recently as a sort of pilgrimage, as my mum and dad ran it in the late 80s / early 90s when it was the Bun Shop..what a delight to be greeted by one of their managers who worked there with my parents back in the day! It's still got the Bun Shop community spirit and charm and I'll definitely be coming back for more drinks and nostalgia,. especially in honor of my lovely and much missed Dad
Had my wife's 50th birthday party there this weekend and it was absolutely brilliant. It has a very good private room at the back with bar, outside space and own loos. The manager David was a great DJ and all the staff were really friendly. Highly recommend for a party.
Visited the Brave New World for the first time ln about 30 years when it was called The Bun shop for my neices birthday party. It was a very hot night but the hall was wonderful and there was an outside seating area to cool off. The bar staff were excellent and really friendly.. the 3 behind bar make a very good team. The toilets were nice and clean... Parking is on road and free. 5 minute walk from Surbiton station. A nice place..
