About us

The Hatch closed its doors after new years eve 2016/17, with the sale from Shepherd Neame to a private owner completing in February 2017. In June 2017, we agreed a new lease for the pub, and throughout August and September many hours of work have gone in to refreshing the old and tired pub.

As part of the refurbishment, we have spent a lot of time on the kitchen, bringing it up-to a modern professional standard, including new appliances and a proper wash-up area. The front of house has also seen significant investment. With new carpet in the bar area, as well as some exposed original floorboards, the walls have been re-painted, light fittings replaced, and we've had new lines installed. Both for the lagers as well as the cask ale lines. As if that wasn't enough, we've also replaced the furniture and put in a state-of-the-art wine preservation system, which allows us to offer an unrivaled wine list available by the glass in the local area.

Being a freehouse, it gives us complete flexibility with what drinks we serve. Our range will likely change depending on what our suppliers can offer us, and we shall have a good selection of local drinks to chose from, as well as nationally-recognised brands. Indeed, if you've tried a really good beer recently, do let us know, and we'll see if we can get some in.

I came with 4 mates and honestly would make this my local if I could 🥲! To share I got rocket with parmesan and olives, I had 2 IPAs and pizza wise I ordered the Zola. It’s a veggie pizza that has cheese, pine nuts, poach pears, basil & drizzle of honey. Was scrumptious 🤤 and want to go back again. What more can you want from a pub. Variety of beers on tap 🍻, delicious pizza 🍕, lovely service from bar staff and chefs and charming atmosphere 💗

Very nice tap house style pub, plenty of different beer, ale, ipa’s etc to try, very nice decor and doggy friendly- have not tried the food yet but I have heard great things about their pizza!

Really lovely vibes all round. Absolutely fantastic local beer, and incredible neopolitan pizzas. Magical dish here, pizza frittas (basically ricotta cheese+ calzone). Fairly regular activities throughout the week/month as well. Sidenote - most excellent playlist rolling in the background btw.

As a big fan of both Pilgrim Brewery and Monte Forte Pizza in Reigate, this is an obvious five star rating. With a dozen beers on tap, four five on hand pumps and a selection of gins, wines etc, you'll find your ideal tipple here. Not only that but the absolute tastiest freshly hand made pizza around.

Lovely old pub, situated in what was once Reigate Foreign Workhouse. Good beers from Pilgrim Brewery. No food was on offer when I visited, but different Street Food is on offer at weekends (check Social Media).
