Large corner pub with Hodgsons' plaque above door. Retains two separate rooms, with a public bar on the left, and a saloon on the right, which used to be subdivided.
Note the unusual curved doors on the ways in. The pub has a regionally important historic interior. The most notable feature being the octagonal, leaded skylight over the servery. Other original features include cornice, panelled dado, bar counter and some of the bar-back, fireplace. 15 letting rooms available.

Fantastic traditional pub with good range of drinks and food. Top class friendly service from Josie and Andy as always when we visit family in the area. Good for sports enthusiasts with games room and multiple TV screens.
Went into this pub about four months ago, It may not be the case, but It seems like this pub is owned by the locals as the atmosphere is very clicky and very unwelcoming. VERY ROUGH indeed. Terrible experience!!!!!
Popped in whilst visiting the area, noticed good Google ratings so thought I'd pay a visit, very traditional pub, plenty of comfort seating and a relaxed place to enjoy a pint, lovely pint of beer was nicely kept 👍.
It's a no frills place. A local pub basically! How most pubs were 30-40 years ago and that's not a bad thing. Service was good and everyone was minding their own business enjoying a drink. Would visit again.
Nice 'old fashioned' pub - with a very good pool table (above the standard of many I play on nowadays). Bar staff are very welcoming. A god pub without all the bells & whistles!

It was here in Kingston that the Coconut Shy originated in the 1800s. Today, The Cocoanut (spelt the old way) is the only existing reminder of this claim to fairground fame.
