The Boaters Inn is situated on the Thames in the beautiful Canbury Gardens, just a ten minute walk from central Kingston. We feature a riverside beer garden that also backs directly onto the park and a quiet sunset balcony. The interior is a mix of classic and contemporary with a 65 seat riverside raised dining area opposite the bar and a smaller dining space by the back garden.
Went to the Boasters for a 50th birthday lunch on NYE with my family… Decent pub selling decent food right next to the river - I bet the views are great in the summer. Burgers, roasts and fish were ordered and all relatively tasty if a little on the expensive side. The staff thought were friendly and helpful. The area we were sitting in was a little cramped which wasn’t ideal for a relaxing time with other diners bumping into you every time they needed to move…
A quite cozy pub with a decent shelf making tasty food. Menu prices are on a higher side, however given premium location it's probably reasonable.
6 of us met for Sunday lunch. I enjoyed a generous portion of tasty roast beef but was disappointed with portion size and quality of the roast potatoes. Wine and coffee both excellent. Fabulous views and setting even on a rather grey day.
The service, food and atmosphere are all great. I like the tempura soft shell crab burger (they call it bun here) very much. It is just unexpectedly tasty. It is also a great place to chill out with family and friends with the great river view of River Thames. There is no parking but it is not far away from Seven Kings Car Park which has plenty of parking place with very reasonable fee.
The location is great & they cater for pets but I wouldn't go there for the food. I had the beef roast. My plate came loaded with veg & a massive Yorkshire pudding & on top were two thin slices of undercooked beef. I gave most of mine to the dog as chewing on it was hard work. Did I mention half of these hardly there raw meat was fat??! See photo. 3 of 4 meals we ordered there that day were disappointing.
