About us

We are a very friendly, atmospheric, Free House pub and believe that a pub is all about people... both the customers and the staff. A lovely pub to socialise or simply to find a snug and have a quiet drink whilst looking at the interesting, changing, art.

As a Freehouse we are able to offer a range of award winning ales and wines together with quality, home cooked, fresh food.

Fulks of Pirbright supply the meat which is freshly cooked at the Fox by Rupert and Gill Ponsonby, who, until recently, owned the Olive Tree at Sutton Green.

In keeping with being a traditional community pub, we also have music and quiz evenings together with themed food events.

We visited this pub for an overnight stop with the Brit Stops scheme for motorhomes. Very welcoming and discovered they offer a good range of real ales on the pumps so that was a bonus. Unfortunately there was no food available when we visited, but otherwise I can recommend the pub to anyone who loves a pint of proper beer.

It's wonderful, friendly and homey atmosphere in Fox Inn. We often stop by when live band is on and good weather allows us to sit in lovely enclosed garden pub facilities. It's a dog friendly place and owner Nigel is a dog lover.

Visited here for Friday lunch with a men's walking group of 15. Most of the 5 or 6 real ales were sampled: all were well kept! Nigel was very welcoming and came to talk to us while we sat outside. Food was provided by the pop-up Thai in the car park: no problem with this except I could have done with a proper knife for my beef curry because the pieces of meat were so big! Being served in takeaway containers made it easier to take home that which we couldn't manage to eat. I wish it was my local. Could only have been better if there had been a roaring log fire, but then it is August...

Visited for the first time since Covid. Bit taken aback at £9.80 for a large glass of wine 😳 Completely changed from before. Used to enjoy going there. Now there is no atmosphere. The outside door was slamming continuously . At least we tried but won't bother again . The barman was very pleasant though.
