food was good. One person on bar and the lunch service was full. One person seemed to be doing the restaurant One person bringing out food. We sat with all our dirty dishes on table for ages, so eventually I took the plates to a sideboard nearby and they still sat there without anyone taking them away. We spend a lot of time at the bar waiting for various parts of the meal ie drinks, more drinks then coffee so away from my group a lot of the time. Ambience was good but there were too few staff to deal with the amount of customers.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly, it was very busy but they continued to smile and look after us. The food was amazing too. We will definitely be back

Really not impressed with our visit. We were a table of 17 which I do appreciate is a lot, however large restaurants should be able to cope with large tables. Our waitress was kind, friendly and worked hard to get us everything we needed but she had no support and is clearly a lot for her- which isn't her fault. 5 of us ordered roasts with at least 3 elements of roast missing on someone of our plates. 2 of us ordered roast pork which specifies that it comes with stuffing, apple sauce, and crackling. Our plates were void of all of this. Someone ordered a trio and the menu specifies stuffing and crackling- again it came without. When I chased these three things, I had to ask twice for these before they came and they were cold. The menu specifies that all roasts come with Yorkshires, but the two veggie roasts didn't. Our waitress got them for us and said they aren't meant to have them- in which case the menus are very misleading. All of us had very limited gravy and the roast potatoes were shocking- they were white with not an ounce of crispness. If I'm paying almost £17 for a roast I expect actual roast potatoes and all the elements that the menu states. The menu also says garlic bread, and cheesey garlic bread. Two of our party ordered normal garlic bread and cheesey garlic bread was brought over- apparently that is the spec? Given that people have dairy intolerances, this is strange especially as it could be dangerous. Why offer normal garlic bread if you don't serve it? The waitress kindly took it away and got a new normal one which was good. Another of us ordered vegan pizza and normal pizza was served. We were told 'the chef didn't read it properly and we have no vegan cheese'- not acceptable standard. I also ordered tea with plant milk and was told they don't stock plant milk at all. In 2024 in a busy family pub, when lots of people have intolerances or are vegan, this is not great and not inclusive. To conclude, our waitress was great but kitchen needs a great deal of improving.

Our main waiter was fantastic as were the others that helped out. Food was very tasty - the roast beef was delicious. Arrival of drinks was a bit slow - not our waiter’s fault, I think the bar was busy. Overall, a good experience.

I've been to this establishment many times over the years and apart from the very odd occasion, I've had a good experience at this establishment, which was how it was this time around. The chicken roast was tasty, so too the chocolate and praline torte, and the service was good. If I had one gripe and that was my table felt sticky, even to the point that I had to peel my menu off the table when handing it back.
