The pub is lovely and the service as well, so it’s such a shame that the food on the other hand is quite bad. We ordered the special lamb sunday roast and I’ve never had such overcooked lamb in my life, and the beef was also over cooked. The children’s sausage was some sort of over filled by stuff and very little meat thing that he wouldn’t even look at let alone touch and the child is literally obsessed with sausage. We’ve been here before and it wasn’t this bad but really inexcusable prices for this quality of food.

Great service and atmosphere! But had a roast and the food was a real let down. Pork was really tough, potato’s were hard and not crispy, small ball of stuffing which tasted frozen. Also didn’t get crackling but as I was leaving saw other tables with it? Shouldn’t have to ask for it. Staff were very attentive and lovely though which makes it better.

We chose Wheatsheaf for the venue of my friends 30th Surprise party. I cannot put into words how amazing the venue and the service was. Poor Mischa had to deal with my none stop emails and on the day she had made my vision come to life. The private room was all prepared for us and the food and drinks came exactly on time. On the day Dan was also there to help. He constantly came to check on us and made all our demand come true. The room was honestly perfection and fantastic for any private hire. We felt like we are at home. The food was so delicious and all the drinks were flowing. All the guests had the best time and kept commenting on the great venue and food. I cannot thank the team enough for helping us out with this event. I will million percent be using the Wheatsheaf for any future events we may have.

Although the presentation was there the taste was lacking. The food left much to be desired. I had to bathe the burger in ketchup to spark some flavour as well as the fries. The service was good and attentive. Although on arrival we were told it may all be booked out so we couldn't eat in the main hall or the garden in the back. When we left it was still empty. The location is good and ambiance wise the beer garden out back and the outside area in the front are very nice for a beer. I would definitely return for a beer and maybe a snack but certainly not for dinner.

We had a relatively early Sunday roast lunch booked in advance. There were only a few tables occupied when we sat down. Our mains were served later than some other tables who arrived and ordered much later than ours. The roast beef was standard however I thought the children portions were at par with the adults. Can you make out from the photos?
