About us

Previously operated as Queen Victoria’s wood yard for Hampton Court Palace, the property was established as a public house in 1765. We pride ourselves on keeping to tradition and creating an experience of a proper English country pub that oozes old fashion charm.

If you are planning a day trip to Hampton Court, it’s worth the five minute drive to enjoy this unique establishment. Our tasty feel-good food is cooked fresh to order and our menu changes with the seasons. Delicious Shepard’s Pie in-front of our wood fires in the winter, to barbecues and Pimm’s in the summer.

We serve an array of lagers, real ales, spirits and beautiful wines from around the world including local English wines and spirits, all to compliment your dining experience or you may just wish to pop in and enjoy your favourite tipple.

Our pub garden is vast with seating for 150 people. We also have a private garden situated to the rear of the property which is often used as a secluded garden in summer months or can be booked for a more private experience to enjoy with family and friends.

Tom and the team look forward to welcoming you, your families and even

your family dogs to share in the Marneys’ magic.

Been here a few times and it’s a nice little pub in quite a quiet location. It’s a bit dark if you’re on foot in the evening, but it gives it a nice ambience. The garden is a reasonable size, but a lot of tables were reserved which is disappointing for a pub. The car park was also quite busy when sat near it so it’s better to be away from there and in the main garden. The drinks were fairly priced and service was quite prompt at the bar. A nice little spot of an evening, although inside is small if outside is not an option so not much seating if needed.

Nice friendly staff, good choice of beer (London Pride excellent) and a nice, but some might say, limited menu. Opted for the Chilli Crab with Linguine, very nice. Asked for some bread to mop up the lovely Chilli Crab juices which duly arrived. Other food options looked good and seemed to be well received. Tuesday evening visit so not overly busy inside, tables outside being utilised on this pleasant sunny evening.

More than impressed with this little find. The parma ham, artichoke with truffle oil pizza was very good indeed. Good selection of beers and staff were pleasant and helpful. Quite busy, garden had room but lots of chatter and laughter which was welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you are anywhere near.
