Since the beginning of my long weekend (retirement) I've visited lots of pubs on a fairly random basis. I visited the Griffin for a couple of hours on Wednesday. I can't remember the last time I've been in a pub with a saloon bar and a public bar. I was in the saloon bar, but would like to believe (though without confidence) that prices in the public bar were cheaper. Went in as the lunchtime food was finishing and it quickly went from being packed to being empty, though the public bar remained lively. Overall, service was good, beer was very good. First impression, a good pub.
The Sunday roast was mediocre. At £17 I would have expected better quality so a disappointing meal. The Surrey Hills ale was good.
Sunday roast is wonderful. Atmosphere traditional. The kind of pub that pubs used to be. Quite intimate. Loved it.
Nice local pub one of the best in Claygate. Free parking on the back yard . Plenty of table in the garden. Nice pud Toilet was clean Recommended place
I brought my son 13 and my parents here on a Sunday. The food was excellent and the venue was comfortable and very clean. The other customers seemed friendly. This was a lovely relaxing environment and the food and service received made it a definite venue to return to.
