About us

The Olde Swan is the most recent addition to McLean inns and has had a comprehensive refurbishment in October and November 2013.

Upstairs we have 7 smart ensuite double and twin rooms and one family room perfect for week day business use and weekend short breaks to nearby Thorpe Park.

Downstairs the shabby chic decor gives drinkers and diners a stunning and mellow experience. So come and enjoy a pint of traditional cask ale and try our amazing stone baked pizza, homemade burgers or sizzling steaks.

Rates are for room only per night.

Chertsey is five minutes from junction 11 of the M25 and has good train links into London.

Rooms are well presented, clean and very well equiped (Tea/coffee, toiletries, iron, hairdryer). Theres a TV with built in freeview and fresh towels were provided everyday. Theres no breakfast option however there are bakeries and cafes within a minutes walk. Staff are really friendly and helpful. We couldnt find the carpark so parked outside but was shown how to find it when we checked in. The family room was plenty big enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and is only a 5 minute drive from thorpe park. Theres lots of local shops, supermarkets and takeaway options nearby however the food at the pub also looked delicious. The windows are very old and dont distort the noise (the bins were collected at 5.50 am) but the room was warm and there were lots of blankets aswell as an additional heater which wasnt needed.

I stayed here, good points. location is great. The general upkeep is good. The bar staff are a bit hit and miss, some are polite and helpful but other's need to be given guidance as they seemed to be more interested in chatting with one another. Bad points. wifi in the room was dreadful. Then again I was informed I got the last room so maybe the signal up where I was was never great to begin with Shower was not great (in relation to the price I paid) Over priced for what I got, It was short notice but even still about 40 percent more than I usually pay for the area but most places were full.

The worst pub in Chertsey. The most unfriendly, rude bar staff you will come across. The manager despises children in the pub although she is pregnant herself. You feel uncomfortable and are constantly looked down upon if you have children with you at 5pm, yes as early as 5pm! How ridiculous. The manager is ridiculously rude to customers and thinks he can speak in a rude manor to people in the garden and swear when children are in ear shot. The drinks have a foul taste like washing up liquid and are awfully tasteless and purposely weak and watered down. Very rude mannerism and no customer service in sight! The bar staff are incapable of handing you a drink without knocking it over and spilling half and not topping it back up. A money grabbing doss hole with the most disgusting manager and staff. Good luck to all who even approach this so called “pub”. If I were able to give this place a 0/10 you best believe I would.
