Sunday full of Irish from boxing club rude and obnoxious people some call them pikeys. Kids running everywhere eating Macdonald's staff should have asked them to leave much earlier Apart from that ok So if you need a new drive come on Sunday if boxing on else avoid
A lovely little spoons that just seems to me to be out of place - I have no idea why it just looks that way! Oh well, this spoons is much more spacious inside than what you would expect, being quite long and narrowish. The staff were wonderful and very polite and there is seating out the front and another area down the right hand side as you enter the pub, opposite the bar. The Guinness was excellent.
You don't expect too much from a Spoons, and this place wasn't delivering much. Quite a few flies in and around the place, and sticky floors, place looked pretty run down. Good service though.
I was pleased with my chicken and mash on a Friday lunchtime. Good selection of ales and friendly staff.
I want to give this place a 4 ⭐️ review as it’s not bad value when you buy food + a drink inc, but unfortunately a few things let the side down a little - so a 3 ⭐️ it is. - I had quite a long wait for my food, in the time it took I had a 27 min phone call plus at least another 15 mins, so around 45 min wait for Gammon egg & chips is a bit long. Granted it was half-term but the pub wasn’t that busy. The waitress did apologise for the wait which was accepted, just a good thing I wasn’t in a rush that particular day! - The Gammon could of been better quality. I get it’s budget food but I think they are making cut backs which makes me question if I’d rather just go elsewhere. - The pub needs a re-fit. Aside from being worn, it feels dated but not in a good “pub way”. My table was sticky, menus were very sticky and I had several flys whizzing around me (in February!) which no matter how cheap the food is that’s the last thing you want.
