It is such a shame how this pub is so badly organised..came here 1st January for a Birthday meal but boy what hard work it was.Just ordering wine was hard because the very young girls serving literally had no clue what white wine was...got past that one and I ordered two Traditional cheeseburgers but I specifically asked for thick cut chips not fries as these tend to be hard on teeth but yes,when we were served,we were given fries..didn't want to query this as it would've involved us waiting for our chips,then the burger would've gotten cold so we put up with fries..terrible hard things that should be banned to over 10s! Burgers were actually good however when we queried our bill,I was overcharged by £2 and my Brother £1..there seemed one set of prices on the till and another on the actual menu...also no paper receipts offered or given.I think The Sun needs some staff training to say the least.Sorry but won't be returning or recommending.
Rooms are dated but clean and tidy,they're situated adjacent to the Sun Inn, so very convenient. There's a little bit of noise from the main road, but it didn't affect my ability to sleep. The staff in the Sun Inn were friendly and the food is typical pub grub but good quality. The Sun is adjacent to a park so would be a pleasant place to stay in the summer and is dog friendly if you wanted to bring your 4 legged friend with you. Great value for money so will definitely stay again.
Good food and choice of foods, drinks a little expensive, but good choices there as well. Great place to meet up and spend time with friends!! Been here a number of times, for all daily meals and each time, the food has been spot on. Always make it a point to stop by for a meal when we are here.
This place was beautiful ! The room was warmed before we arrived, so that alone was worth 5 stars on an ice cold night arriving!...modern room, deep bath , huge shower , and very clean with thick towels everywhere ...for a place like Swindon, I'll only be staying here when visiting the inlaws , 100% 😉 Ps , no travel cot available here was the only downside ...so the baby slept on the floor with mum and I had no choice but to sleep in the tall king size bed.
We did not stay in the hotel but dropped in for lunch. They were really great on gluten free food. I often have problems with contamination and they just said that they take gluten free very seriously and they were right! Not to mention we got big plates with lovely steak and lamb chops that were tasty and really good portions. A lucky find.
