Traditional village two-roomed pub opposite St Lawrence's Church. Pub games, such as darts and dominoes are played in the public bar, whilst the lounge also houses the dining area.
Food is prepared in house. Nine hand pumps serve three ciders from Westons, as well as at least five real ales. In the summer, there is a bright and colourful garden area, winner of numerous local awards, to while away the hours. The pub holds beer festivals featuring Locales. It was a runner up in a National cellar competition in 2013. Refurbished in November 2016, the interior has a more contemporary feel with pastel shades on walls, ceilings and even the bar in the lounge. Part carpeted, part wooden flooring and comfortable seating.
Lovely pub. Nice to combine with a walk around the hills of Gotham. Some nice walking with good views
Nipped in for a quick cool drink of coke whilst passing through, lovely pub in a great setting.. didn't try the food, maybe next time
Loved this pub for drinks. Never eaten here, although really should. The staff are great and the drinks as well kept.
5 stars. Clean, very friendly staff. Varied menu that was not only delicious but also reasonable priced. Portions large and not a huge wait for food. Chef popped out to personally ask guests if food was OK which was a nice touch.
Lovely staff great service. Really welcoming pub. The food was delicious. We will be going again! The staff were down to earth, friendly and a great group of people to talk to. They made us feel like a local and it was brilliant.
