Very pleasant staff. Excellent Sunday lunch. Very tasty and plenty of it. We shall certainly return both at night and for more delicious food.

The table we reserved was ready for us straight away, bar staff & waiting staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was lovely. This was our first time here, we will definitely be returning!

Booking was very easy to do online and amend. The staff were excellent on arrival. The food choice was very good and everyone really enjoyed their food. The rump steak on the surf and turf was cooked to perfection although the Sirloin was more medium than medium rare. The Marstons Pedigree was outstanding and was one of the best pints of this Burton staple I have had. Overall an excellent evening.

Excellent and friendly service. We had the festive menu and it was really tasty and filling. It was very well cooked and represented very good value for money. The food was complemented by the wine we had. All in all a most enjoyable experience and we have recommended the Sump to our friends.

The Sump looks amazing, all decorated up for Halloween. The atmosphere is great, food is gorgeous, and service is brilliant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Had scampi, chips, and mushy peas, served with a lovely tartar sauce. To follow a very tasty Blood Orange and Chocolate Brownie with ice cream. The pub is lucky enough to be right next to the river trent, so it's good to sit outside in summer and any other dry day, enjoying a drink/meal and watching the ducks. There is disabled parking around the rear of the pub and also disabled accessibility. Menu is varied with vegetarian options, and not too expensive. Drinks are also reasonably priced, with alcohol free options.
