About us

Eddie and Rosie have sons who are TT racers. Daniel being the fastest man on the course in a Formula two side car,He is also the most successful sidecar passenger in T T history having 8 wins to his credit. as well as the youngest ever winner of the TT, while Matthew is just starting off, and has done extremely well both on and off the Island.

Nearby Ramsey, an ideal town for recreation and shopping, is only 4 miles away and if you require transport the hotel is on the main bus route for all parts of the Island.

The Curraghs Wildlife Park is within walking distance of the hotel. The north of the Island hosts some of the Island's most superb walks - along coastal routes or through the stunning and picturesque glens.

The Sulby Glen Hotel is ideally situated, approximately half way on the main bus route, between Ramsey and Peel.

Although both Peel & Ramsey are small ports they have completely different characteristics. Peel with rich, red sandstone buildings and the ancient ruin of Peel castle, once the capital of the Isle of Man. Ramsey is a more cosmopolitan port with delightful shopping streets. It also has a wonderful park, with children’s play areas, boating, mini golf and bowls - all set in beautiful gardens.

Within walking distance of the Hotel can be found the Curragh Wild Life Park, an outstanding example of conservation and wild life. The park is easy to walk around with refreshments and a shop available for guests.

Live music is often a feature at The Glen, from traditional Manx folk - to more up tempo duos or bands. During the summer months a large marquee is situated within the grounds and is often used for barbeque evenings with entertainment. Quizzes and themed menu nights are something you must ask about. An open log fire in the main bar area is a welcome sight on winter evenings, where you can relax with an award winning beer or indulge in a game of darts or pool.

The Hotel/pub is in a beautiful but rather run-down building. The owners and their dogs were very friendly and helpful. There is an open fire and good atmosphere. It's a popular stop for The Isle of Man TT fans. The room and food was ok for a walker who had no accomodation option at Kirk Michael and had to take the bus to Sulby.

Would never eat here again, Ordered hubby burger and chips ( not sure what they done with the chips), only half the burger was eaton, Mine and my sons come 15 mins later, Pizza is ok, ( don’t order the garlic pizza it’s very small, Coleslaw sitting next to the hot lights ( to keep food warm)as was the salad, Sandwiches sat on the bar for sale, not sure how long for, and waiting stuff I think need to be trained more, To be fair we did get the money back for hubby’s meal after the owner came to clear plates away,

Lovely cosy country pub with interesting history. Essential place to visit for a motorcycle racing fan. THE best busheys beer on the Isle of Man is served here and the beer festival is a must for your calendar. Top Sunday carvery on the Isle of Man too which I visit regularly. Quality food and generous with the quality meat. Thank you Rosie and staff.
