Good village local close to Stowmarket. Separate restaurant alongside comfortable bar. The annual race of the bogmen is held locally on Easter Mondays. There are plans to set up a farm shop & post office at the pub.
Originally only licensed as a beerhouse, the pub got its full license on March 2nd 1960. The building dates from the late 16th or early 17th century, with 19th century alterations. It was originally a group of four cottages, but was converted into a pub to replace the White Horse, which stood over the road. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolkcamra.co.uk/pubs/pub/345
