We had Sunday lunch at The Bull. Staff were excellent. Service was a bit slow. The food was good but my only real criticism is the Seasonal Vegetables mentioned on the menu consisted of half a roasted carrot and one stalk of brocoli !

My partner and I stayed here for a night and it was amazing. The rooms are fitting to the location, the bed was very comfy and the room/bathroom was very clean. We had dinner that night and the food was amazing, service was outstanding. Overall the price of the stay and food/drink was reasonable for the standard of what you receive and the location too. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Spent New Years Eve here, with friends. Just love this historic, wonky old hotel. Great food, live music and lovely, well-appointed rooms. Service marked down, just because they were short staffed and both the evening meal and breakfast, took an age to come out! Not the staffs fault. They were apologetic and worked their backsides off! A great night was had.

Dire! Booked a 'Festive Dinner' last week for a party of eight - a round table in one of the function rooms, (menu choices prebooked) On arrival, was told by barman that we had to sit at the far end of the bar where two square tables would be pushed together for us! After 30 minutes of being seated and with no-one acknowledging our presence, a waitress found us and agreed that we should have been seated elsewhere. We declined the offer to move, having no desire for walking through a crowded bar with coats and drinks and , by now, our complete disillusionment. The food that followed was mediocre. Not a good evening and one that our guests from New Zealand will probably mull over for some time.

I've yet to have a bad meal here. Always accomodating and friendly service. Tara, who tends bar and serves the tables is always friendly and efficient. I've ordered from the standard menu and the 2 meals for £25 special Monday to Thursday covers a lot of that menu also and is very good value. Worth a visit if you haven't been.
