Huge Improvement! We have just got back from a Sunday Afternoon here and the food, service was fantastic. We last visited in the summer and the food was poor but they have turned it around and was very impressed. Thanks to the chefs and the hard working staff. 10 out of 10!

I eat regularly at the Royal George with friends from our Golf Club - usually on a Friday lunchtime. We book in advance and are given the same table each week. The food is tasty and hot and there is an excellent choice to be had.Lisa is very friendly - knows all our drinks off by heart and can’t do enough for us. All the team are friendly and provide a very pleasant experience. I also eat at the Royal George with my family as we think it is excellent value for money and the food is lovely.

We have been going to the Royal George for 15 years, now we are retired we go three times a week and have all our family parties there. The menu deals make it very affordable especially for us and our family. The food has always been hot, cooked to our liking (I am a qualified chef so not always easy to please) and we have no complaints whatsoever. The staff have always been very friendly, very approachable and always make our visit enjoyable, and will go out of their way if we have any special food needs especially for our grand children. Everyone works so hard in an industry that can be challenging at times. The George is a happy family restaurant, brilliant staff, excellent food and service. Our experience 5 stars.

My family and I visited the Royal George on 11/1/24 for lunch. While the usual bustling atmosphere was noticeably quieter, the service and quality of the food let us down considerably. Unfortunately, our meals took significantly longer than anticipated, despite the less-than-crowded dining room. When the food finally arrived, the disappointment was palpable. The chips were lukewarm the steak proved unpleasantly tough, and the chicken remained at an unacceptably cool temperature. This rendered some dishes inedible and prevented certain members of our party from enjoying their meals altogether. We brought these concerns to the attention of the manager/head chef at the Royal George, hoping for a professional and prompt resolution. Unfortunately, we were met with an argumentative and unprofessional response, particularly directed towards our elderly family members. This aggressive behavior further tarnished our evening and left us feeling disrespected and undervalued as customers. This incident stands in contrast to our previous positive experiences at the Royal George. We have always found the Royal George to be a reliable place for our family get-togethers It has served as a comfortable stop for our elder family members after their long treks, allowing us to reconnect over a meal. However, this recent experience seriously undermines our past positive experiences and raises concerns about the current standards. While we appreciate the past comfort and convenience offered by the Royal George, this recent experience has unfortunately shaken our confidence. We hope that the management will take our feedback seriously and implement measures to ensure consistent quality and professional customer service moving forward. We urge the Royal George to re-evaluate their kitchen practices and staff training procedures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
