Table we had booked & been allocated was completely unsuitable as we would have been right in the way of people trying to get past. The young lady I spoke to was very polite and professional went to check with the male working behind. It was his sarcastic face pulling that & muttering that made us choose NOT to stay any longer & leave. I would never return I would like to point out this score is on that experience and not food as we didn't eat any
Me and my wife went to the Manger with the motorcycle club I'm a member of. Service was excellent food was very good. And the timing of bringing out people's meals was also excellent considering there was 40 of us. We did pre order our selection of meals before hand but even so still excellent. I've heard that it's the same chef that's been there years. So he must be doing something write and obviously they look after their chef as well. So much so, That I'm going to book and have my retirement there. As they have a large function room out the back. And looking at the generous portion sizes of meals served. I would highly recommend giving this pub a go.
Super little pub, did a fantastic job of accommodating our birthday party and helped to make everything special for the birthday boy. Staff were very cheerful with nothing too much trouble. Service was prompt, good choice of alcohol, food was nice with good portions.
Wow! That's how I feel, wow. Having driven past this beautiful old world pub many times we decided to actually go and see what it's like. We parked easily, went in through the lobby (complete with Christmas tree) then in to the bar and, wow, how gorgeous it is. A large Christmas tree, wooden beams, plenty of nice chairs and tables plus a roaring fire in a huge inglenook fire place. The landlord served us with friendly chat and welcoming words. We only had a round of drinks but, for sure, we'll be going back to enjoy more and definitely to dine. I cannot recommend enough this unexpected gem of a country pub... I wish it was my local!
Visited with a group of friends and family to watch the fantastic Bootsy Soul Band. First visit to this lovely country pub, despite the weather conditions being awful the pub did everything possible to stage the event and maximise the enjoyment of its customers. We all had a wonderful time and the service both prior to the event by John and on the day by his team was exceptional. We look forward to a return visit, and hopefully the weather will be better to enjoy the garden area to its full potential. Well done The Manger.
