What a disappointment! Booked for a funeral reception and quite frankly the food was an embarrassment .The older lady who was serving was so rude, everything was met with an angry response, eye roll or sigh. Yes we did expect more than one sandwich and one hot drink each. They also added the bill of someone eating in the restaurant to our bill, obviously hoping we wouldn't notice. Just because you are grieving do not accept this treatment.
We enjoyed our meal here very much! Went for a birthday meal and was so pleased with the lovely attentive service, beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back! :)
We had a very nice meal here. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were just right. Not stuffed but nicely satisfied after three courses. The service was very good.
This location was only taken over by the new owners about six months ago and you can see they are already making changes. This is a lovely and comfortable place to eat and drink with a good choice of menu for all catered for, with a added bonus of a new indian menu. We found all staff extremely helpful, friendly and great humour. The bed room was very clean with new beds, but furniture could do with an update which I am sure they have plans to do, Towels, shower gel and shampoo were also provided so great that you do not need to take your own. Plenty of parking and well lit carpark Disability friendly with a lift to get to the upper restaurant, reception and bar. This seems a very busy place to stay so if you have a disability and require a ground floor room make sure you book in good time. Great and easy access for Blenheim Palace and a short drive to Oxford Park and ride ( I think it's called pear tree) Overall a lovely stay for a few day's
Very nice location, been visiting for years. Young lad serving not very helpful or polite. Tutted when I asked him to fill the wine to the line as it was 6mm below. Commented after top-up,"it's above the line now" it was just. We would have had lunch if I had been treated with a little respect. The young ladies who served us were very polite and friendly.
