A stone built pub with slate roof in a quiet village. There are five real ales available. Food is available Friday to Sunday and it is advisable to book. Outside there are extensive lawns often used for barbeques and other functions in summer.
Friendly chatty local in picturesque village, six well kept ales including Otter, Shepherd Neame and Timothy Taylors, good choice of other drinks, enjoyable reasonably priced traditional food (Fri-Sun lunchtime only), low ceilings and two log fires, small restaurant; background music, sports TV; children and dogs welcome, large pleasant garden by Great Ouse with barbecue and play area, camping, open all day.
Perfect stop over pub as they have an area which we parked campervan in to stay the night. Had dinner and drinks, to which the staff were lovely and food was great. Made to feel welcome
Food was fantastic and owners were great. Atmosphere was great too. Plenty of room to park motorhome plus electric. Toilets were all that let it down. Definitely go back though.
Stayed over for 1 night in motorhome and will definitely be calling again when passing through. Food very good and reasonably price. Lovely spot in bottom of field but just take it steady down the slope.
Amazing proper English pub, the publican is great for a yarn, it's small and cosy and they serve good beer. We parked up there as part of Brit Stops and loved it! Apparently the food is great too which we will definitely try next time!
Well spot on. 😋. Thursday late lunch coming back from Oxford diverted through Brackley to see if we could get in. A very friendly and warm welcome, an old cozy typical village pub. We stopped as a special day treat and was well rewarded. The staff was exceptionally friendly and checked on the details of a few food and drink questions. We had the home made vegetable soup and creamy garlic mushrooms. Mind you it was just a hint of garlic. Perfect. For mains my partner had his sausage and mash he said was delicious. I had the steak pie with short crust pastry. A most delicious meal and a very pleasant experience. We tried to drop in on a Sunday several weeks ago, however you need to book. It was full. They do two sessions Sunday lunch and is a set roast dinner so you need to check. The prices was very reasonable as well.
