At The Steading, Edinburgh, we pride ourselves on providing fantastic, family friendly pub dining. Located at the foot of the Hillend dry ski slope, just a few miles from the city centre, The Steading enjoys picturesque views and is the ideal place to eat for those looking to enjoy great traditional pub food and escape the hectic city centre.
Our large beer garden is perfect for enjoying a cold glass of wine while taking in the scenery...this area is also perfect for families as the garden has a large lawn and several trees where your children can enjoy running around in the fresh air and marvel at the skiers on the Hillend dry ski slope.
Looking for somewhere to host an event? Here at The Steading we have two large conservatories which can be booked for private functions. They look out onto the stunning Pentland Hills, a beautiful backdrop to any event.

Lovely staff!! Food is really good and made well and the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. I’ve been to the steading a few times and it’s always been good, would definitely recommend:)
Met with a friend for lunch. We hadn't booked and place was really busy. Luckily the manager found us a table..thank you. Food was served very quickly and we had the Steak pie. Decent portions and nicely cooked. Nice atmosphere to. 😀😀😀😀😀
Nice quality and great value. It's the relaxed but atmospheric experience that keeps us coming back. I always have the salmon or steak, and my partner and mom always have fish and chips. The fish and chips is some of the best in the wider Lothians region!
Me and my partner went here for a bite to eat. The staff from the waiters to the bar staff was amazing. The service was quality. Really made us feel welcome and also introduced us to a new cocktail that we will be taking home with us. Thank you so much have a lovely Christmas.
Very busy but got a table near the bar, ordered at the bar then placed our order. Nice menu had the fish and chips and salad also beef lasagne with garlic bread. Served quickly and the food was very tasty nice portions fish tasted very fresh lightly battered excellent fresh salad with loads of dressing. Lasagna was made not frozen with loads of mozzarella cheese, lovely. Told some of our friends and family. Recommend
