Was taken here for works night out. Meal was lovely, pudding was massive. Would definitely recommend here for meal. Service was very good to. Was nice in dining room.
My Dad is Diabetic and we were in desperate need of some food before our train with only 25 minutes to spare, that staff were so helpful in making recommendations that were quick and warming after our visit to the castle, the food was delicious and quick and the staff were kind, helpful and thoughtful. Definitely recommend!
I am a very regular visitor to the Station Hotel for meals and events as I live locally. I think that it offers excellent value for money, generous portion sizes and good service. However what would take this dining experience up a notch would be some changes to the menu. There is usually one 'special' on offer, but otherwise the menu has varied very little for years and quite honestly it is pretty uninspiring. In fact, for the festive season, some of the favourites have actually been taken off the menu! I have eaten in all the separate venues within the hotel in the last month - the lounge bar, the snug, the dining room and the function room but not the public bar. The snug and the dining room are cosy; the lounge bar adequate, but the function room was absolutely freezing. The majority of those at our function had to keep their coats on for the whole evening, which really spoiled our night. This is a welcoming hotel with lovely front of house staff - but sadly there are signs that attention to detail is waning - perhaps because the current owners are trying to sell up.
We had a fantastic family meal here. The menu gave lots of different options and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious 😋 and we would all thoroughly recommend The Station Hotel. Thank you 💯⭐️
Visited for 1st time in years and very busy at lunchtime. Menu was good and service was efficient. The food was delicious but the servings were too large and I'm a big eater! My plate was half filled with chips (which isn't shown in pic below) , most of which were left. I can recommend the veggie haggis burger but beware, it is huge!!
