Our always familiar pub classic dishes are bound to put a smile on your face. Smooth cask ales, world lagers, and spirits sit alongside soft options on our bar. My partner and I had an incredibly disappointing evening at Station Garden. The meats served were disappointingly chewy, throwing off the entire meal's enjoyment. The Gammon steak my partner ordered was excessively salty, altering the dish's flavor in a negative way. It was evident that the beef had been reheated, which significantly impacted its freshness. Adding to the letdown were the cold and hard vegetables. Vegetables are meant to enhance a meal, but their suboptimal temperature and texture detracted from the overall experience. In a concerning moment, there was a point when I thought my filling might pop out, raising a valid safety concern. In summary, our visit to Station Garden tonight left much to be desired. The chewy meats, overly salty Gammon steak, reheated beef, and issues with the vegetables and my filling collectively made for a disappointing dining experience. I hope this feedback serves as valuable insights for improvement, as constructive criticism is essential for the betterment of any establishment. I trust that addressing these issues will contribute to a more positive experience for future diners.
Fab Sunday lunch for several adults and kids. The Roasts were particularly good and very generous. Bar and table service was friendly and efficient. Good play area for the kids as well and a dog friendly establishment. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
I was very impressed with the overall experience. In my online booking I had asked for a quiet corner table and we were given this - great for me and a very elderly gentleman. It was brilliant to have a “lighter bites” menu and the food was well cooked and really tasty. The staff were friendly and professional. It was also warm inside and i noticed (when I went to the loo) that families with children were all seated on the other side. I don’t know if this was just a coincidence, or the pub’s policy, but IMO this is a really good idea, as so often in pubs and restaurants I get frustrated with noisy groups when I want a quiet meal. I often take relatives out for a pub meal in Didcot and this was the best one so far 😊
Table of 11 ordered Christmas Lunch for our Karate Group. The food was awful, not cooked, cold I had crisp pieces of Turkey.
Highly recommend, had my daughters birthday party here the food and service was amazing! They went above and beyond gave us a section of the pub so kids could play party games and have their face painted. Everyone had the best time!
