A lovely little pub but will never eat there again. Frozen stodgy mash, oil laden burger and the homemade slaw was tasteless. The pie was decent but in my opinion over priced (£16) seeing as its served with nasty frozen mash. A highly disappointing meal that lacked quality, very little eaten from either plate. But for a drink it's a lovely place to visit with good atmosphere.

I ordered the southern fried chicken burger, which was quite dry and over cooked. However the homemade coleslaw was excellent. It was £12.50, but once I had a coke and paid the service charge it was over £18. I don’t consider this as very good VFM based on my meal. The atmosphere of the pub was nice; it was busy and well decorated. There was a lit fire in the front of the pub, but we ate at the back where the fire was not lit and it was slightly cold. Overall, it was an okay visit and I’ll go back to try it again before making any further judgement. Thanks

We booked the pub for a post baptism lunch and they hosted over 20 of us including a newborn and a bunch of toddlers. We had coeliacs and vegetarians and they catered to everyone. Despite more of us turning up they were so incredibly accommodating and made sure everyone was happy and looked after. I can’t thank the staff enough. Shout out to the organiser (think her name is Jane?)! We love The Star and will continue to come here whenever we can :) 10/10 recommend

This charming pub never fails. A hidden gem. The service is polite, welcoming and warm. Helpful, attentive and easy going. The food is fresh, tasty and reliable. The Sunday roasts are exceptional value and a good selection too. It’s fast becoming our ‘go to’ for a family Sunday roast. Fresh, hot and plentiful. It still amazes me how many pubs get away with poor Sunday lunch! The Star excels! The pies are equally as delicious!

Lovely little pub, very welcoming. We were looked after by Emily. Food was delicious especially enjoyed the jacket potato (but came out lukewarm instead of hot) & nacho burger. The others weren’t too keen on their Fish and Chips. Desserts were lovely we had 2 cheesecake, 1 waffle and a brownie. The cheesecake was absolutely gorgeous so delicious I almost ordered another one! My friend enjoyed her waffle, the brownie however was a let down as it was quite dry so didn’t finish that. Overall the experience was great and we would definitely come again. It’s a beautiful little pub.
