A community focused craft beer bar in the heart of Dundee city centre. Part of the six°north family.
Had friends over from out of town for the festive period. Wanted to show them a good time in dundee so took them to the star and garter, dj was extremely rude and unwelcoming. Could have stayed and enjoyed drinks with the friendly locals but could not stay in such a hostile atmosphere due to the dj telling us we weren't welcome so we left. We thought the start and garter welcomed all types of folk, but obviously not. Not what the star and garter used to be about.
As soon as my friends and I walked in, the DJ made us feel unwelcome and told us to leave. First time visiting this pub since it reopened as the star and garter and were excited to show friends from New Zealand some good Dundee pubs and it was totally ruined from the get go by the DJ.
Great place for some quality beers and ciders. Extensive spirit selection. We enjoyed sitting in the cosy snug at the back but plenty of tables and space at the bar. The staff were fun and chatty, the locals too! Great meet up point in the town for folk who aren't teeny boppers anymore 😉😁 decent price, tasty pint, what more can you want!?
Fantastic find of a pub. Brilliant staff, the lady that served us today made a great Baby Guinness!!! Nice landlord too, we were made to feel very welcome 👍
I just had lunch and walking past THE STAR AND GARTER. I liked the look of the outside of the bar. And the music was loud. I had a Pint of cider and just felt really content. The 2nd pint was ordered and I sat at the bar. I got talking to Andrew a local and the lovely lady who was serving us . A few rounds later I said my Goodbyes. And headed to my hotel. I took some photos on the way ,so I could find my way back to the STAR AND GARTER . I was just wondering if you found a laptop bag with paperwork in a folder. Thanks for a looking after me . As a solo traveller I was made to feel at home.
