I eat here a couple of times per month and usually enjoy the food and my time spent there with the family, I was back today in the standing stones for Saturday lunch with 3 young kids and everything was good including the food and the service, they have a kids menu deal where the kids also get a desert after their meal, the staff check in at the table from time to time to make sure we had everything we needed including crayons and drawing paper to keep the the kids occupied while I had my food. The staff are very helpful and efficient, the food is good pub grub standard and and reasonably priced and what you'd expect to have in a family pub, the staff will cater for any thing you need if it's possible to make your visit more enjoyable, one of the staff Dawn I think her name is was very helpful with a smile even tho I was probably being a bit of a pain asking her for this and that for the kids every 5 minutes, nothing was a problem, There is outside seating for the outdoor alfresco dining experience weather permitting and also an enclosed play area for the kids to play in while you have lunch or a glass of wine or a beer and still be able to keep an eye on the kids, All in all I find it a good pub with good staff and a good selection of food and drink for everyone's taste. They even cater for customers with dogs and have a doggy menu, Sure what more could you ask for? Keep up the good work 👌
Great food, views and service. Really enjoyed our visit. Such a scenic walk to get there and the views are great. Lovely atmosphere and everyone so helpful and polite
We've been four times in the last couple of months. Each time we have been greeted by friendly staff. Love the dog friendly area and tickled by the menu for our canine friend. Can't fault the food or the service. Everywhere, including the toilets, is very clean. The atmosphere is very warming and calming. We will be coming back on a regular basis.
Worst food I've had in a long time, Fries were cold, Burger was the same as you can see in the photo, the cheese wasn't even melted! McDonald's is 10x better than this place so says it all really.
Went here for the first time and can certainly say that it will be the last. Whilst the food I got was quite nice, the portions were so small. Sausage and mash came with 1 sausage and a small scoop of mash for £5, the ribs I got had very little meat on them. For the price I paid, I would have expected much more than what I got. The staff weren't even bothered and the manager was super rude to one of the team right in the middle of the restaurant. Wouldn't bother coning here and would suggest the Morrisons on the same car park for better food. EDIT - The £5 meal was the kids sausage and mash*
