The Stag's Head is a warm and friendly family run pub and restaurant, situated in the heart of Great Doddington near Wellingborough, Northants. The pub itself was built in 1693 and has two restaurants, a large bar area and beautiful beer garden.

A beautiful old pub in an attractive village that serves really good food but on this occasion a friend and I visited for drinks. The place has a lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff... Our previous visit to this was a few weeks before and the food was excellent. Overall very impressed.
We found ourselves at The Stag's Head in Great Doddington last Sunday and what a delightful experience it was. My wife and I indulged in the Sunday roasts - I savored the roast pork with crispy crackling while she enjoyed a tender roast turkey. The roasts were accompanied by a selection of fresh vegetables, homemade stuffing, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, and a bowl of rich, flavorful gravy. The kids weren’t left behind; they happily tucked into their pizzas from a kid-friendly menu. The attentive and friendly service added to the warm ambiance of this old-style, character-filled building. It's the kind of place where every corner has a story to tell. We wholeheartedly recommend The Stag’s Head to anyone in the Wellingborough, Northamptonshire area. It's a place where good food and friendly faces await. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
What a wonderful Sunday lunch experience! The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Every single member of staff was helpful, smiley and just absolutely lovely. They were also really attentive and fun with my 8 year old daughter despite being busy with some big parties. Due to one of our party having a dairy allergy, they double checked with the chef what she could safely eat. This was greatly appreciated. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The brownie was incredible. Thank you! It's been a long time since we had such first class service.
Lived in the area a few years now always wanted to try this pub for a meal with my wife and we finally got around to going lovely food staff very friendly will be going back very soon highly recommend.
Easy to find on the main road through, and on the corner. The postcode via sat nav didn't take us straight there, but stay on the road.. Plenty of parking. Dogs welcome. A bar area , although it's mainly eating areas with tables. The food was nice and came out with rocket speed. Nice restaurant decor. My only criticism would be the attentiveness of the staff. Our drinks order was forgotten. Our sauces were forgotten. Then the wrong sauce arrived. We seemed to be served by 4 different people.... maybe have the same person serving the same table, then things wouldn't get forgotten!!!
