It wasn't so much the hotel as very basic but very clean and at a very reasonable price what made it a lovely stay was Marie Anne and the staff to say Marie Anne went the extra mile to make our stay the best overnight stay we have ever had in Moffat they made us and our dogs so welcome and nothing was to much trouble for her, she is an asset to The Stag Hotel. We will definitely stay here again 😊
Good meals at a good price. Friendly staff. Would have been 5 stars but doors between dining area and bar were open, so a bit of noise drifting through.
Spent the night at the stag hotel last night. The room was excellent. The manager Marianne went out her way to make us feel so welcome. The staff was amazing. Everyone was so cheerful and we all had a good laugh with each other. I met some lovely people last night. It will be an absolute pleasure to return for a few night. I actually felt a little sad leaving everyone this afternoon. Keep up the fantastic work folks we will both see you soon. Michelle
We stayed at this Hotel a few years back and it was lovely returned a week ago and was so disappointed. When i called i was told cost would be £70 i said that was fine, when we arrived 10.30pm was asked to pay cash for room right away my husband asked for 2 drinks and before they were in the glass again we were asked for cash, we were shown to room my husband asked what time breakfast was only to be told they only do breakfast on Sunday mornings and there were places on high street who served breskfasts. Very disappointed on cleanliness of room so much so I wouldn't have a shower. The staff themselves were nice & helpful but to be honest if it was not so late at night i would have asked for money back & gone elsewhere.
Excellent service, friendly helpful Pleasant staff. All the young local people in the pool room chatted to us so pleasant, never heard any swearing. Credit to a very well run pub. Will definitely come back here. Top beer too. From 60 year olds who enjoyed their company.
