Stayed Nov 2023. Hotel was incredibly cold and our room, a family room, was cold and damp when entered. We had no hot water no proper flushing toilet, and there was no central heating. The room had two electric raidiatirs and an electric storage heater bearing fixed to the wall. There was mould in the windows and on top of some switches. Our bedding was damp and we had to dry out our pillows next to the radiators. When asked about the issues we were advised there was a problem with the boiler and a plumber was being called. That never happened. When placing a complaint to the establishment direct I was advised there was a gas issue in a neighbouring property…..gas….yet they still accepted our money and allowed us to stay. The whole hotel was under refurbished, which we understood yet was not advised when booking or prior to arriving, but the whole hotel was icy cold all rooms were the same. Many family members stayed with us and actually checked out early. £96 we paid and it wasn’t worth £20. The hotel could be beautiful, but stay away from near room 5 stairs looked to have collapsed, no ‘caution’ tape or ‘do not enter!’ I would never stay again.

The room was clean but not spotless, it was very COLD (no heating) or hot water for the two nights we stayed. The breakfast was cold also , would not recommend staying at this hotel, staff was great friendly and helpful pity the bosses could not do the same. Mr Mark fox.

Well... the rooms are cheap for a reason. Dated, run down... schitts creek motel anyone?? Have the audacity to take a £100 deposit too... doubt you could cause £100 worth of damage. Only good thing is the location. This hotel is not befitting of the very pretty town.

Just got back from this place, we popped in for a bite to eat for lunch. I ordered a breakfast and my partner ordered eggs benedict, we had a shandy a glass of wine. Never got the breakfast , waited 50mins and was then told it wouldn't be much longer, we had to leave as our dog was waiting at the groomers, how long does it take to cook a breakfast? We were the only ones in the restaurant waiting for food!! Girl behind the bar whom I will say was very pleasant, told us they had a new chef on, maybe they should get another as this one is hopeless. We paid for the food we never got and the girl told us she hadn't charged for the drinks. Another thing was they had varnished the tables in the restaurant but it hadn't set properly so if you leaned on the table you stuck to it, very odd. Avoid this place like you avoid covid.

Great hotel, stayed here while at a wedding nearby. Looks like it was built in the art deco era with many original features still there. Good breakfast and nice staff, currently going under some refurbishment but still all works ok, location great nearby bars and restaurants, good price for accommodation 👍
