Stopped in for a quick lunch. Friendly Atmosphere and staff. Worth a vist.
The pub has recently been taken over and refurbished. They have done a great job. The pub feels much fresher inside, with nice decor. The staff are friendly and the food was great, with generous portions. We came in and they were only doing roasts (it’s Sunday). The roasts were really nice. They took a while to arrive but were worth the wait.
Was passing by on a Sunday afternoon and found the StJohns Arms parked up (there’s plenty of parking on site) we all went in side was a nice warm feel had a nice open fire burning 🔥 which was very nice to see. They where quite busy and we where asked if we had booked which we hadn’t as we was passing by but they managed to get us in there was 4 of us in total we all had the soup of the day which was really nice home made soup followed by the Sunday Beef Roast which again was good the meat was a bit on the tough side and not enough Gravy. I had the chocolate brownie with ice cream that was really good. Bit an issue with the wine as pictured but sorted in the end after 3 glasses later 1 cracked 1 with a little swimmer. If there’s any questions I can help out with in regard to the area in general don’t hesitate to ask and I’ll try my best to help you out.
Under new management. Steak was awesome, get the peppercorn sauce, someone knows how to cook! Sticky toes pudding took me back to my childhood.
A lovely little pub set in the middle of nowhere on country roads waiting to be discovered. We had 3 roasts there and we weren't disappointed. The service was very quick and efficient, and I have to add, that the roast potatoes were some of the BEST IVE EVER HAD !! Dogs are welcome. A large garden seating area that's also suitably enclosed and safe for dogs. ( even a chihuahua ) We shall be returning to try the basket food in the week. Definitely recommended, and run just like a pub should be!!!
