Busy old bar on the Perth Road with emphasis on busy and old. Proper old school pub known by everyone as ‘Mennies’ after a former owner. Professional staff, tons of TVs, live music and little snugs. Full of locals and maybe the odd student. By far the busiest pub on the Perth Road during the week.
Fab traditional pub not far from Dundee centre. Massive whisky selection so worth a visit if you are in one of the local hotels. Also has some great tourist pamphlets, make sure you pick up the Dundee art walls one.
Atmospheric pub with charm in the west end of Dundee. When it is half full, it has a lovely buzz. The separate rooms and TVs with the sound down means that it’s good to just sit about and talk. Sensibly small selection of real ales that are really well kept; can see why the bar has won awards. Seems to always have one local beer on (and often one from Hales based south of the border). Their ham and cheese toastie is also a step ahead.
