About us

The Admiral Rodney was built during the 1950's, next to the site of another pub called The Rodney, which was demolished at the time. The pub is named after an old local hero, George Brydges Rodney who as an admiral defeated a Spanish fleet in 1780 and a French fleet at the Battle of the Saints in 1782.

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

Food was lovely, wait staff very attentive and friendly. Only bad point was one main meal didn't turn up as the server taking the order had forgot it, which wasn't surprising as he didn't even write the order down. Was told by another server that he always forgets one order. My advice would be make sure all servers write the orders down. Had a lovely evening regardless.

Haven't been here for a while but it's still a beautiful pub with delicious food. I had the belly pork and it was so good! The atmosphere was amazing and on a horrid cold January evening we were sat near an open fire

Had a really nice dinner here yesterday from the set price lunch menu, with great, cheerful service from Angela! The atmosphere of the pub is lovely, and there was a good variety of comforting food options available. With the rain going outside, it was a cosy, relaxing meal - would recommend!

The most amazing quality of food and service. Christmas Eve and it was packed. We are a family group of 6. Two grandparents, two parents, and their two teenage daughters. Our waitress, Angela, was very attentive and efficient. The food all turned up quickly, piping hot, perfectly cooked and presented, even though we had different meals. We are so impressed that we made a booking for ten, the day before New year's eve

Called in on a very warm night. Sat inside while waiting for an available table outside. Nice homely feel, pleasant staff with a friendly welcome. But none of the windows seem to open ( painted shut ). We sat at a table near the open door for some fresh air. Overall, a nice pub with a friendly feel. Will call in again.
