Best pint in the city but very clicky pub you get told you cant sit there and there and there
Recently went here for my Dad's wake, and everything was perfect up until someone random person, who looked an absolute state, walked up and tried hitting on my mum (whose partner the wake was for) and signing the memory book, despite not knowing any of us. He was fended off, but when escalated to the landlord, he was very apathetic to us, caught in several lies, later even shifting the blame on us, accusing us of moving wake signs (which apparently hasn't been moved by anyone for 6 years, which is a ridiculous claim) and "inviting" others to play darts, which doesn't make any sense. Why invite randos to our private area? He even stepped really close to me during an argument as if to intimidate, which is absolutely baffling. I understand that he couldn't stop everyone from coming up to us as hes very busy, which is fair on him, but the way I was treated, despite trying to be as fair as possible, is absolutely inexcusable. To have the blame shifted on us when we were in a time of mourning is ridiculous. It was supposed to be a good night out but turned to an absolute nightmare. All the other staff and bar members were spot on, but the landlord really is something else.
We call in after a night at the dog and it finished our night off amazing lovely people all round
First independent bikers meet tonight and a good turnout. Landlord great and bar staff. Pie and pea's on menu. Music on. Coffee and tea available for those that don't drink and drive 😀. Will try and get down again soon. Every Wednesday night.
Pre Wednesday match day pub but also very friendly to all visitors any day if the week. Family run. Clarice was so helpful and friendly. Great place to drink, there was 3 different types of entertainment there on a Saturday evening
