About us

Originally a coaching inn, the pub was built in 1816 when the Chapel-en-Le-Frith Turnpike road was first constructed. Its location brought in so many travellers looking to rest their horses that extensive stabling had to be added to the west of the inn. Originally called the Devonshire, The Dore Moor Inn was renamed in 1827 after the village of Dore in which it sits.

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

Had a staff Xmas party, ordered off the set festive menu. Fantastic food! I got the fishcake, gnocci and lemon tart. Everything was delicious, the service was great. Nice decorations and warm atmosphere. Would recommend.

The excellent food is the only thing keeping this review at 4 stars. Waited 25 minutes from being seated to even having a drinks order taken. Waited another 25 minutes after finishing mains to order dessert. Lots of staff, just not doing a lot. Most of them stood at the till looking bored. Sunday roast was excellent though and the staff we did interact with were nice.

Large and stylish interior decor. Bookings probably recommended Service efficient and clinical Food was good enough - goats cheese starter was tasty but not quite sure it works sat on top of toast which just becomes soggy Rump steaks were fine - the usual rump trade of a little tenderness for a little more flavour - nice enough Sea bass was generous portion and nicely cooked, though my fishcakes were a little bit dry to be honest Rhubarb crumble was crisp and with good balance of sweet / sour flavour. Could not taste the alleged gin in it - bit of a pointless gimmick I think. Overall very pleasant Final issue - the ramp walking down to the car park is in quite poor condition and a trip hazard in places for older people with walking sticks - needs a bit of re-pointing

three of us arrived 1:20pm on tuesday, not many empty tables left. recommend book table in advance. it is a comprehensive menu. lunch time 2 and 3 courses cost approximately £18 and £21 respectively. the meals we ordered were tasty. i wished there would be more custard than toffee sauce in the dessert sticky toffee pudding with custard.

Can't praise this restaurant enough. Our booking was for a family gathering to celebrate 2 birthdays and a new baby. The booking process was great, at short notice after another venue let us down. We could add pre-orders online via a link to everyone which was excellent. The food was fantastic, one guest said the pan-fried salmon was the best meal he'd ever had. All orders were correct and everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was great, always someone on hand to get extra drinks. We had an excellent time and would definitely recommend them.
