Richard and Jon have worked together now for over 20 years and gained much experience in the catering industry. Together, we're looking to introduce more food and speciality theme nights and make The Chequers the place to eat in Whiston. We have a good selection of homemade dishes on our menu and specials board!!! Good, honest, tasty, value for money food. If you have any particular food requests, please don't be afraid to discuss them with us.

Had our Christmas due with the lasses from work. Always enjoy the meals great service. Great atmosphere listening to your favourite music. Staff are very pleasant and polite. Would recommend the cheques.
I have been here a few times for food and Sunday lunch and never been disappointed,it's always been spot on with friendly waitress. This is why I brought two friends for lunch and a nice catch up. Two of us ordered the braised beef with mash and steamed veg. The beef was delicious and so was the mash but the steamed veg turned out to be a bowl of watery mixed frozen veg which is just not good enough for 14 quid. The waitress had the most miserable face I've seen and when she was collecting plates my friend picked some spilt food up and put it on the plate as she picked it up and I saw her actually roll her eyes as she walked away, so rude. Think I might give it a miss for a while.
Traditional old pub that has become known for excellent food with good but sensible portions. You wont leave hungry. Recommend booking for food. Dont expect modern or posh but worth a visit for the food
This is a great place to come for a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The pub itself is quite big, and the tables for those wanting to eat are nicely spaced so you are not sat on top of each other. The menu isn't huge but has something for all tastes and a good selection of specials. For value for money, it's excellent. Everything is freshly prepared and presented nicely. Would definitely recommend it.
