Very dirty and run down. disappointed, used to be a lovely place. Firstly I feel sorry for the staff for being so rushed off their feet. Despite this the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Table was very sticky, tried to wipe with a napkin and it was black! Men’s toilet urinals should be set to out of use, they were all full of urine and with a bucket underneath! The smell was absolutely disgusting. I had a mixed grill, order the steak medium, and it was very very well done. Sausages were over cooked and black. Chips and coffee was nice. Was no time to complain at the time of visit due to long queue and time to be served. I’d hate to think what the kitchen was like with the seats/tables and toilets being disgusting. Made me feel sick.
From the moment I stepped into the Stonegallows Inn in Taunton, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance of the place set a welcoming tone, with its cozy setup and friendly faces. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the meal I ordered – the Scampi and Chips. It was nothing short of delicious. The scampi was cooked to perfection with a golden, crispy outer layer, while the inside remained succulent and full of flavor. Accompanied by the classic, crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside chips, it was a match made in heaven for my taste buds. Adding to the delightful experience was the customer service, which was exceptional from start to finish. A special shout-out to the manager, James (if I'm not mistaken with the name). His attention to detail, prompt service, and warm demeanor made the meal even more enjoyable. It's rare to find someone who not only ensures that the service runs smoothly but also takes the time to make sure every guest feels valued. I left Stonegallows Inn with a full stomach and a smile on my face, thanks to the wonderful staff and the mouth-watering Scampi and Chips. I can't wait to return and try more of what they have to offer. If you find yourself in Taunton, make sure to stop by the Stonegallows Inn – it's an experience you wouldn't want to miss!
Hungry Horse chain pub. Not bad. Food was alright. Good value for money being pretty cheap. Pleasant enough inside. Parking available. Alcohol bit on the expensive side. Guinness wasn't a great. Staff friendly and professional. Ideal for a quick bite before attending a local football game
Came for lunch had a Roast Beef and a Roast Turkey, both came out within 15 minutes and very tasty with plenty of veg. The staff were very polite and helpful only downside was the lack of the Homer Donut dessert that we wanted to try. We will be back soon
