Despite being a lovely place, bar staff and chef producing warm food, the land lady is consistently cold to the heart, as is her side boy manager who may evoke a repulsive feeling. Both extremely rude and condescending. Twice they have made my mother and I feel unwelcome and given a chance to feed this back, discretely and kindly (offline), they decline, too busy with their head up their behind to want to care. Good luck in these trialing times. Place was dead. Boycott in place for a local business more deservant. Hostilities raised further đź‘Ź
Excellent service and delicious food. I would highly recommend. We visited for a team meeting and the manager couldn’t have been more hospitable. He gave us a cosy seat by the fire and nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you x
We were surprised for a quality of place given a review is 4.3, it was definitely 5 out of 5 experience for us. The place is dog friendly and we walked into the most handsome great dane chilling by his owner having a beer. The staff were lovely the food excellent. Lovely place, will be back for sure.
The George is a great inn. I stayed one night while visiting friends in Nunney. My double room was warm and cosy with all you would need for a few nights away. Everything was fresh and clean as you would expect. The en-suite shower felt a bit feeble but certainly did the job. The breakfast was good, and the dining room felt friendly as a lone diner. All the staff I encountered were welcoming and helpful. I would certainly recommend The George if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in that part of Somerset. I have booked to go back over Christmas. This time booking a suite for me and my husband, and a double for my son. We are looking forward to it very much.
Beautiful pub, beautiful location opposite Nunney Castle and fab food. Been a while since I ate here. Took my mum who loved her (slightly smaller portion) fish and chips. My burger was excellent. All in all fabulous!
