The Olde Smokey Inn is a fine 17th Century pub and restaurant in Marldon Paignton Devon.
Considered to be one of the oldest pubs in the area, the Smokey Inn is the ideal location should you wish to visit us for a glass of wine, a pint of traditional real ale, a tasty bar snack or a enjoyable lunch or evening meal in our delightful restaurant.
Inside, you will find a relaxed ambiance full of style and comfort with its cosy interior. During the cooler months the real log-burning fire creates a lovely atmosphere whilst in warmer months you can sit outside in our beer garden which enhances this charming restaurant and pub watering hole.

Popped in on the off-chance but stayed for food and drinks. The food was AMAZING, delicious pub food and proper portion sizes too at very reasonable prices! The staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere. The restaurant was fully booked but we were told we could eat in the pub side, which was perfect. Will definitely be back and highly recommended this gem of a place to anyone!
I haven’t been here for some years and I wonder why! The food was excellent and plenty of it. My partner and I had ribs and steak and ale pie both of which were gorgeous. Staff were very attentive and obviously happy in their jobs. Decor a bit tired in places but then I was there for the food and will be again. Thank you Ye Old Smokey.
Great carvery, which had gammon on offer, which made a nice change, and the gravy was amazing. If I had to be critical, I would say the outside and the car park could do with some work, because the inside is fabulous, definitely don’t judge this book by it’s cover.
Lovely pub, staff and food. Had carvery, the beef was so good, tender and no fat. Really good roast potatoes. Disappointed I couldn’t have the beef gravy though as it had pork juices in which I don’t eat. The veg was all good although not very hot. Delicious pudding. Definitely will visit again, thank you.
Lovely atmosphere, very clean and warm welcoming staff. I had the roast and my wife had chilli con carne, both nice meals. Great roast pots and good quality veg, my only small criticism would be is the way the meat is sliced and served. We will definitely be going back in the near future.
