Chef and Brewer pub restaurant
My 1st visit to the Smiths Arm, it was a favourite of my father inlaws, we had a lovely walk around swinsty reservoir and stopped here on our way home, the pub is charming with plenty of carparking, we hadn't booked but the friendly staff quickly found us a table in the bar area as we had a dog. The pub is cosy and warm with an open fire, good selection of drinks, food was ordered from the lunchtime menu and everything was nice. I'll come again and would recommend the Smiths Arms if you're passing.
From the very start, we were greeted warmly and felt valued.. had the pick of seats, and nothing seemed too much trouble, The menu was very easy to understand. The waiter knew his products along with the bar offerings.. the squid was cooled very well (5 years in harrogate, and this is the 1st squid I've had that's been cooked like it should) The burger was mouthwatering and left you wanting more.. just as it should be, the atmosphere was relaxed, clean, and bright but kept the feel of private intricate dining.. Proce was reasonable for sure then take off nhs 20% discount making it cheap for the quality.. looking forward to our next visit.. Log fires, good grub, well looked after, decent prices all togther spot on.
The staff were lovely, really professional but friendly too which is a rare find these days. The food was gorgeous 😍 presented well and good sized portions. We were only passing through but really wish this was our local. Lots of parking, immaculate toilets and I really cannot find fault. Thank you for a lovely meal ♡
Stumbled upon this after a visit to Harlow Carr. Fanastic country pub. Loads of good ale on the pumps, and good gin/wine selection. Service was great, couldn't do enough for us. The food was fab with good portions. Would definitely recommend it.
Lovely old pub. I think we arrived a bit late for lunch, so my fellow travellers thought the food had been hanging around a bit. I went for the beyond meat burger... knew it'd be a mistake as these fake meat products means I taste them for a whole day or more. However, it looked good.

Our traditional pub has been stylishly refurbished to make it the perfect place to find a cosy corner and take time out whilst enjoying some of our Chefs seasonal dishes and our great selection of wines, ales and lagers.
